Dharwad Peda

Generally, peda (or pera) is prepared from milk, khoya (mawa) or paneer with sugar and some other ingredients for flavouring. Preparing peda from milk would definitely be time consuming as we have to reduce milk until it thickens in order to prepare khoya (khowa or mawa) from it. To save time, instant peda recipes can be prepared directly using khoya or paneer because ultimately our aim is to reduce milk.

I love this Dharwad Peda recipe because of its soft texture and crunchy sugar coated layer on top. Making Dharwad Peda at home is very easy and we don't need a lot of ingredients. You can quickly prepare this Dharwad Peda if you have chenna (crumbled or grated paneer) or khoya as remaining ingredients will mostly be there in your kitchen.

For this Dharwad Peda, I used crumbled paneer (Chenna), sugar and few other ingredients. You can use khoya as well for making this Dharwad peda. Or you can use combination of khoya and paneer for preparing Dharwad Peda. I have used home made chenna for making Dharwad Peda recipe but you can use readymade paneer for instant Dharwad Peda recipe.
