To keep this Paneer Pulav recipe simple, I have just used capsicum, tomato, onions and paneer. You can use green peas and any other vegetables you like. But believe me, this combination of veggies gives an awesome taste to Paneer Masala Pulav.

I have cooked this Paneer Pulao recipe in ghee. But, don’t worry it’s not a lot of ghee and just a couple of tablespoons which is moderate for the quantity of Paneer Pulav we are going to cook. This Paneer Pulao recipe is Tawa Pulao styled recipe. So you can call this as Paneer Tawa Pulao also. However, it is not prepared on Tawa 😜 .

Mostly I use homemade paneer for my recipes so of course for this Paneer Pulav recipe I have used home made paneer too. Homemade paneer is really super soft than any ready made paneer. So if you would like to make soft paneer at home check my another blog for Homemade Paneer Recipe.

  3. Close the lid and cook rice on a medium flame until water is reduced. Later, lower the flame and allow to cook rice just for a minute. The idea is that not to overcook the rice.

While rice is being cooked, we can utilize the time to chop vegetables. Time saving tip 😊.
  4. Finely chop onions, dice tomatoes to 1 inch length and capsicum to 1.5 inch length medium thin slices or as you prefer. (Refer images later in the blog).

  5. Cut paneer into medium chunks or as you like.

  6. Once rice is cooked nicely, remove the lid and separate out rice with the help of a fork. Don't close the lid afterwards as rice will be overcooked because of the steam and will become sticky. I am sure you wouldn't love to eat sticky pulav.

  7. Rice grains are separated and it's not sticky as we see.
