Welcome to my another quick recipe blog, this Coconut Chutney recipe is super simple one to prepare and it really goes well with many Indian snacks. Especially in South India, coconut chutney (or nariyal chutney, Nariyal means Coconut in Hindi) is served with recipes like Idli, Dosa recipes and Paddu or Appam.

Though restaurant style coconut chutney will slightly differ from one region to another and you will also find that depending on where you go, the ingredients used are also slightly different. But here I am going to take you through some quick steps to prepare a very simple coconut chutney recipe which I usually make at my home. Also, this coconut chutney or nariyal ki chutney is a completely oil free chutney recipe too.

Cooking method for Coconut Chutney

  1. Transfer all ingredients to a grinder jar.

    I have used 2 chilies. But you can use any amount as you prefer based on your taste.
  2. Grind until all ingredients are ground nicely. You can coarse grind as well if you don't like smooth chutney as I have kept it, a little coarse.

    I have used peanuts powder in this coconut chutney, as peanuts powder gives a nice binding to the chutney.
  3. That's it, all done. Your nice and tasty coconut chutney is ready with just these simple steps. Pour this nariyal chutney to a serving bowl and serve chutney with dosa, idli or any snacks you like.

  4. Coconut Chutney tastes amazing and adding peanuts powder makes coconut chutney even more tastier. Just make sure you use right amount of ingredients as per your taste, add or remove from mentioned quantities as you like.
